Nelly Furtado Portuguese-Canadian singer Nelly Furtado–who broke out in 2000 with hit singles “I’m Like a Bird” and “Turn Out the Light”, and whose new album, Loose, has already produced the hit singles “Promiscuous” and “Maneater”–was recently asked by Genre magazine if she was attracted to women, to which she gave this response:
“Absolutely. Women are beautiful and sexy. It is interesting, because I’m reading a book about Chinese medicine, which claims that people are inherently bisexual to balance their energies. And, in a way, that makes so much sense. As humans we have both male and female energies. I believe in Kurt Cobain’s statement that, in the end, everyone is gay. Everybody should have the freedom to experiment. I believe sexual experimentation is part of human history.”

Nelly Furtado has sparked rumours she has secretly married.
The singer - whose engagement to Cuban sound engineer Demacio “Demo” Castellon was revealed in July - was seen wearing a gold wedding band on her ring finger, below her diamond engagement ring at Miami’s Y100 Jingle Ball on Saturday (15.12.07).
A source is quoted as saying: “Nelly was partying backstage with Natasha Bedingfield and Timbaland. She was so happy and there was no missing the gold band on her finger.

Timbaland’s hit track Apologize has been named the biggest radio song in U.K. history. The song beat Timbaland’s 2006 collaboration with singer Nelly Furtado to become the most-played song on British radio since the airwaves were monitored in 1987.
Nelly’s Promiscuous was spun 10,306 times in a single seven-day period in 2006, but the hip-hop star beat the record by 25 spins (10,331) last week.

Canadian pop stars Avril Lavigne and Nelly Furtado have snagged some of the biggest honours at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Furtado won album of the year for her blockbuster release, “Loose.”
The annual awards show featured performances by Foo Fighters, Mika, Lavigne and the scandal-plagued soul singer Amy Winehouse.
Winehouse sang “Back To Black,” and won the artists’ choice award, determined by a survey of more than 80 fellow performers.
Nelly Furtado - the worst-behaved diner in showbiz, according to celebrity restaurateur Guy Rubino.
Rubino claims Timberlake insisted on ordering off the menu and Furtado acted like a diva during visits to his Toronto, Canada, eatery Rain.
The chef says, “Furtado made a reservation for 10 guests. She showed up an hour late with five extra people in tow. For parties that size, we do a prix-fixe type of menu.
“Nelly objected and was really rude about it. She expected individual dishes to be prepared. Her manager even came into the kitchen and had the gall to say, ‘Just [bleep] do it! I told her that she and her client could just [bleep] leave.”
In contrast, Rubino claims Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones were the best guests: “They’re very polite. Every time they come in, they pop into the kitchen to say hello. I just love them.”
Nelly Furtado have been signed up to perform at this year’s US MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas in September.
Furtado has been nominated for female artist of the year, along with Fergie, Winehouse, Beyonce and Rihanna.
