Nelly Furtado Introduces Her Fritz Helder & The Phantoms

Last Friday, Nelly Furtado introduces her Fritz Helder & The Phantoms at the group’s CD release party at Mr. Black in New York City. The album, named “Greatest Hits! Platinum Edition,” is released on Nelly Furtado’s new Nelstar record label.

Hosted and introduced by Nelly Furtado, Toronto-based Fritz Helder & the Phantoms - comprised of lead singer Fritz Helder, sporting a Dorothy Hamill haircut, keyboardist Diego Superstar and his exaggerated eyelashes, the fabulous Pastel Supernova and guitarist Silk Helder - put on a raucous set of 11 songs. Right off the bat, you can’t deny their comparison to the Black Eyed Peas simply because of the make-up of their band members (3 multi-ethnic guys and a hot girl). But these guys really have their own thing going on. Loved their style, music, and syncopated moves.

Nelly Furtado has launched her own record label in a bid to lend a helping hand to hopeful musicians.

The ‘Hey Man’ hitmaker has launched her own record label called ‘Nelstar’. Nelly will work in co-operation with Canadian record company Last Gang Labels.

Nelly Furtado has already signed up a Toronto-based electro-pop quartet ‘Fritz Helder and the Phantoms’ under her newly launched record label.

“I’ve been thinking about a way to help Fritz Helder for a while and this venture grew out of my love for the band, their art and their work ethic. I am as committed as they are to bringing their creativity to the world,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“We love Nelly and this new partnership is a very exciting opportunity for us. It’s empowering to work with a combination of people who believe in our project and are willing to help us see it through,” remarks Fritz, the group’s main vocalist.

When is this Hollywood baby boom gonna end? Star is reporting that Nelly Furtado is
knocked up with her second child. Who’s the baby daddy? It’s her sound engineer
fiance Demacio Castellon.
“She’s not very far along yet, so she’s trying to keep the pregnancy under wraps,” a “source” told Star magazine.

Nelly - who are you?

AND WITH SONG TITLES LIKE “PROMISCUOUS” AND “MANEATER”, SHE’S ALREADY EMBRACING HER INNER BISEXUAL STEREOTYPE
Nelly Furtado Portuguese-Canadian singer Nelly Furtado–who broke out in 2000 with hit singles “I’m Like a Bird” and “Turn Out the Light”, and whose new album, Loose, has already produced the hit singles “Promiscuous” and “Maneater”–was recently asked by Genre magazine if she was attracted to women, to which she gave this response:

“Absolutely. Women are beautiful and sexy. It is interesting, because I’m reading a book about Chinese medicine, which claims that people are inherently bisexual to balance their energies. And, in a way, that makes so much sense. As humans we have both male and female energies. I believe in Kurt Cobain’s statement that, in the end, everyone is gay. Everybody should have the freedom to experiment. I believe sexual experimentation is part of human history.”

Nelly Furtado has sparked rumours she has secretly married.

The singer - whose engagement to Cuban sound engineer Demacio “Demo” Castellon was revealed in July - was seen wearing a gold wedding band on her ring finger, below her diamond engagement ring at Miami’s Y100 Jingle Ball on Saturday (15.12.07).

A source is quoted as saying: “Nelly was partying backstage with Natasha Bedingfield and Timbaland. She was so happy and there was no missing the gold band on her finger.

Nelly, 29, enjoyed letting down her newly-dyed blonde hair backstage after performing at the BankAtlantic Center to a packed house.
